Education for All
Overview
Through our approach to economic inclusion and access to work for the most vulnerable women in Maiduguri, we employ mothers to produce high-quality infant flours. The model pairs dignified income with a concrete education guarantee for their children, ensuring that livelihoods and learning progress together.
What we do
- Provide on-the-job training and paid work for vulnerable mothers in infant-flour production.
- Remove barriers to schooling by covering enrollment and basic school costs for their children.
Results to date
- 1 child enrolled in kindergarten (pre-primary).
- 6 children enrolled in primary school.
- 2 youths from a household that lost its sole stable earner were supported to complete their final university semester.
* These two graduates are now volunteering with our flour-production team, strengthening daily operations and mentoring new workers.
Why it matters
This integrated approach delivers immediate income for mothers, keeps children in school, and builds a pipeline of local talent that sustains the production unit. By linking livelihoods to education, the project multiplies its impact across generations while meeting community nutrition needs.
